Some things you might wonder

Why have other treatments failed to move you forward?

Some of the individuals I work with have seen other professionals, often several.   They may have gone through a hospital stay, recovery program, or residential/day treatment.  Sometimes many times. Other treatments sometimes fail to go deep enough or far enough to be successful and achieve lasting results.

In my experience this happens when a treatment only stays on the surface and doesn't go to the heart of the stuckness, or have the consistency, frequency, or duration of treatment.

Of course, you want to know if I can help you. Unfortunately, while I can't guarantee results, what I can do is offer you the ingredients that I've found to be helpful with many others over the more than 45 years I've been practicing .

Hi!

Brief bio

I am a Psychoanalyst with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Licensed as an MFT, I've practiced privately, helping stuck people for over 45 years...particularly those suffering from more debilitating kinds of things, like bipolar and autistic spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychoses...in addition to anxiety, depression, and drug issues.

As a member of The New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, I serve on the Faculty of the Adult Analytic and Psychotherapy Programs, where I enjoy teaching Psychoanalytic Candidates and other mental health professionals .  Also, I teach psychoanalytic theory to UCLA and supervise USC 4th-Year Psychiatry Residents

I am the Interim President and Director of Admissions of the Chinese American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA) an organization that trains Chinese psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapists and prepares them for further training as psychoanalysts

I've presented my own papers at international psychoanalytic conferences in the US, Brazil, China and Iran.

A veteran host of two Southern California talk radio programs, I'm often asked to speak to both professional and laymen's groups.  I believe I have a knack for presenting complex ideas in a down-to-earth manner and getting to the heart of a matter.

I am a member of the International Psychoanalytic Association, American Psychoanalytic Association, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

My CV is available, upon request, if you'd like more information about my background.  Usually though, people just want to know if I'm any good and if I can be helpful to them.
