Some things you might wonder
Why have other treatments failed to move you forward?
Some of the individuals I work with have seen other professionals, often several. They may have gone through a hospital stay, recovery program, or residential/day treatment. Sometimes many times. Other treatments sometimes fail to go deep enough or far enough to be successful and achieve lasting results.
In my experience this happens when a treatment only stays on the surface and doesn't go to the heart of the stuckness, or have the consistency, frequency, or duration of treatment.
Of course, you want to know if I can help you. Unfortunately, while I can't guarantee results, what I can do is offer you the ingredients that I've found to be helpful with many others over the more than 40 years I've been practicing .
I am a Psychoanalyst with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Licensed as an MFT, I've practiced privately, helping stuck people for over 40 years...particularly those suffering from more debilitating kinds of things, like bipolar and autistic spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychoses...in addition to anxiety, depression, and drug issues.
As a member of The New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, I serve on the Faculty of the Analytic and Psychotherapy Programs, where I enjoy teaching Psychoanalytic Candidates . Also, I teach psychoanalytic theory to UCLA 4th-Year Psychiatry Residents and present seminars to other mental health professionals regularly in the New Center's Extension Division. As an Adjunct Professor in the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, I teach Clinical Psychology doctoral students. Recently, I've started providing Teaching, Supervision, and Psychoanalysis to Chinese Psychotherapists over Zoom.
I've presented my own papers and discussed others' papers at international psychoanalytic conferences in the US, Brazil, and Iran.
A veteran host of two Southern California talkradio programs, I'm often asked to speak to both professional and laymen's groups. I believe I have a knack for presenting complex ideas in a down-to-earth manner and getting to the heart of a matter.
I am a member of the International Psychoanalytic Association, American Psychoanalytic Association, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
My CV is available, upon request, if you'd like more information about my background. Usually though, people just want to know if I'm any good and if I can be helpful to them.
